The Roads Department monitored 12,157 observations on the Kingdom’s roads during the five-day “Safe Roads with Distinctive” campaign, with the participation of 620 representatives from the Ministry of Transport, university students, and road security special forces, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Communications in 61 teams from different regions of the Kingdom.
According to the overall campaign statistics, 2,059 observations were recorded in the Riyadh region, followed by the Medina region with 1,578 observations. Meanwhile, the participating teams monitored approximately 1,511 observations in Mecca Al Mukarramah region, 1,421 observations in Al Qasim region, 604 observations in Asir region, and 964 observations in Al Jawf region.
According to statistics, 731 observations were carried out in the Tabuk region, while the team recorded 1,040 observations in the eastern region, 473 observations in the Jizan region, 725 observations in Hail Road and 375 observations in Al-Baha Road.
The Distinctive and Safe Roads campaign, now in its sixth year, aims to survey the road network outside urban areas and improve the level of safety and maintenance of the Saudi road network.
