Nouakchott, March 14, 2025 – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has successfully distributed 220 food baskets to families in need in the Teyarett District of Mauritania’s capital, Nouakchott. The initiative, which took place yesterday, benefitted approximately 1,320 individuals, providing them with essential food items during the holy month of Ramadan.
This distribution is part of the larger “Etaam” Ramadan Food Basket Project, an annual initiative by KSrelief aimed at supporting vulnerable communities and ensuring food security in several countries during Ramadan. The project for the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in 1446 AH reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to humanitarian assistance and its focus on alleviating food insecurity in regions that face economic challenges.
The food baskets provided by KSrelief include staple items such as rice, flour, sugar, oil, and other essential provisions, which are critical in supporting the dietary needs of those in need during Ramadan. This initiative is part of a broader humanitarian effort by KSrelief to help disadvantaged populations in friendly nations around the world, ensuring they can observe the fast and meet their nutritional requirements throughout the month.
KSrelief’s actions in Mauritania are part of its ongoing mission to deliver aid where it is most needed, with a focus on strengthening food security, promoting social welfare, and fostering a spirit of solidarity and compassion. As a significant player in global humanitarian relief, KSrelief’s continued efforts in Mauritania highlight the Kingdom’s commitment to international cooperation and its role as a leading force in global humanitarian assistance.
By distributing food during this important time, KSrelief not only provides immediate relief but also contributes to the long-term goals of improving living conditions and reducing hunger across the world. The organization remains dedicated to supporting communities in need, particularly during significant periods like Ramadan, when charity and community support are especially emphasized.
