The US has sent more than 300 fighter jets and military aircraft to the Centcom base in the Middle East amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran.

According to open source aviation data released today (Wednesday), more than 300 US military aircraft and fighter jets are deployed to the region, primarily spread across multiple bases in the region.

Additionally, the region is home to two air wings: the aircraft carriers USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Gerald R. Ford.

The U.S. military arsenal in the region includes a wide range of aircraft, consisting of approximately 84 F-18E/F fighters, approximately 36 F-15Es, approximately 48 F-16C/CG/CMs, and approximately 42 F-35A/Cs, accounting for approximately 70% of the total aircraft fleet.

The remaining 30% includes tankers and special mission aircraft, as well as 18 EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft, 12 A-10C Thunderbolt close air support aircraft, five A-11A battlefield air communications aircraft, and six A-3 Sentry (AWACS) early warning and control aircraft.

The United States has increased its military presence in the Middle East in recent weeks, threatening military action against Iran to force it to abandon its nuclear and missile programs and “regional proxies.”

The Financial Times revealed that the US has mobilized 16 warships and up to 40,000 military personnel to the Middle East, as well as hundreds of aircraft.

He noted that the United States has about five military aviation divisions in the region, each containing about 70 aircraft at bases spread across the region.

The US military has added wings to the aircraft carriers Abraham Lincoln and Gerald Ford.
