Yemen’s Aden, Al-Mahrah, Shabwa, Abyan, Lahij, Hadramout and Socotra governorates have received Saudi subsidies in oil derivatives to operate power plants, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The grant will fuel more than 70 power plants in the state. Contribute to improving the efficiency of government agencies and revitalizing the local economy.

This initiative plays an important role in improving daily life and supporting commercial activities by increasing the reliability of electricity supplies.

This allocation was provided based on a needs assessment submitted by the power plant. To ensure that the fuel reaches its final beneficiaries, a committee made up of several Yemeni organizations has been established to oversee and monitor the distribution process.

The Saudi Yemen Development and Rehabilitation Plan (SDRPY) has provided similar grants for oil derivatives in 2018, 2021 and 2022 and will continue support until the current 2026 grant.

Since its establishment in 2018, SDRPY has implemented development projects and initiatives across eight key sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, government capacity building, and development programs.
