Turkiye: Trade deficit widens to 11.2% – Saudi Arabia News

Türkiye’s trade deficit widened by 11.2% year-on-year in January last year, reaching $8.4 billion. This was announced today by Turkish Trade Minister Omar Porat.

Preliminary trade data for the month showed that imports remained relatively stable compared to the previous year, recording $28.7 billion, while exports fell by 3.9% to $20.3 billion.

Earlier, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed that Turkey’s external trade deficit increased by 11.9% in 2025, reaching $92.01 billion.

According to the data, exports increased by 4.4% to $273.36 billion, while imports increased by 6.2% to $365.37 billion.

According to the data, the foreign trade deficit expanded at an annual rate of 5.6% to $9.3 billion in December last year.

Exports in December increased by 12.7% from the same month last year to $26.37 billion, and imports increased by 10.7% to $35.67 billion.
