Governor Sami Al Husseini of the Directorate General of Small and Medium Enterprises (Monshat) pledged to work with relevant authorities to expedite the payment of dues of delinquent private sector facilities, stressing that the role of the Directorate is not to provide direct financial support, but rather is limited to mediation, follow-up and overcoming obstacles.
This happened today (Monday) during a public meeting organized by the Taif Chamber of Commerce and Industry, when Al-Husseini discussed a complaint lodged by a medical facility about six months ago regarding the late payment of membership fees for purchasing services for the Ministry of Health worth about 30 million riyals, and the delayed payment of salaries of the facility’s employees.

Participants emphasized the need to monitor the causes of poor business performance and carry out specialized on-site investigations to find practical solutions that will help companies improve their sustainability.
In a visual presentation, Mr. Al Husseini reviewed the most prominent services provided by “Monshaat” to support and empower small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs, reviewed the challenges they face, and sought to transfer and discuss those challenges with relevant authorities to contribute to addressing those challenges.
He also mentioned the benefits of the “Recovery” service launched by the authorities, in addition to the discounted service package “Jadir” services and the “Nawafez” application, as part of efforts to refund government fees paid by new SMEs during the financial year (2024-2028).
He also reviewed a number of virtual and in-person training programs aimed at developing the capabilities of entrepreneurs and business owners, honing their managerial, technical and financial skills in a way that contributes to accelerating business growth, ensuring sustainability and strengthening the culture of entrepreneurship.
