RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman welcomed German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at Al Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed aspects of bilateral relations, areas of cooperation and opportunities to further develop bilateral relations across various fields. They discussed the latest regional and international trends and efforts being made to address them.
Prior to the official talks, an official reception ceremony was held to honor the German Chancellor. At the beginning of the session, the Crown Prince welcomed the German Chancellor’s visit to Saudi Arabia, and Chancellor Merz expressed his pleasure at the visit and meeting with the Crown Prince.

Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman also attended the meeting. Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd, Minister of State and Cabinet; Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, Deputy Ruler of Riyadh Region; Prince Abdullah bin Bandar, Minister of National Security; Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan. Minister of Culture Prince Bader bin Abdullah. Minister of State, Cabinet Secretary, and National Security Adviser Dr. Musaed Al Aiban; Minister of Commerce Majid Al Qasabi. Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance, and fellow ministers. Minister of Investment Khalid al-Falih. and Saudi Ambassador to Germany Fahad Al-Khattar.
From the German side, the meeting was attended by Stefan Cornelius, Federal Government Spokesperson and Director of Press Information, Michael Kindzgrab, Ambassador of Germany to the Kingdom, Günther Sauter, Adviser on Foreign and Security Policy to the Federal Chancellor, Levin Holle, Adviser on Economic and Financial Policy to the Federal Chancellor, and other senior officials.
