Yemeni Presidential Council approves new government camp

Aden – Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council on Friday approved the formation of a new government and named its members, following a proposal submitted by Prime Minister Shaya al-Zandani.
The decision was announced by Rashad Al Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, with the approval of the Council.
Under the new regime, Al-Zandani was appointed prime minister while holding the diplomatic and expatriate portfolios. Muammar Al-Eriani was appointed as Minister of Media, Nayef Al-Bakri as Minister of Youth and Sports, and Salem Al-Sokatri as Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries.
Other members include Ibrahim Haidan as Minister of Interior, Tawfik Al Sharjabi as Minister of Water and Environment, Mohammed Al Ashwar as Minister of Industry and Trade, and Qassem Bouhaibe as Minister of Public Health and Population.
Other important appointments include Badr Al Arada as Minister of Justice, Taher Al Akhili as Minister of Defense, Badr Basalama as Minister of Local Government, and Moti Dammazi as Minister of Culture and Tourism.

The government also appointed Anwar Al Mahri as Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training, Adnan Al Khaf as Minister of Power and Energy, Marwan bin Ghanem as Minister of Finance, and Afra Al Zuba as Minister of Planning and International Cooperation.
Additional appointments included civil servants, legal affairs, education, higher education, telecommunications, petroleum and mineral resources, transport, public works, social affairs, human rights, and religious endowments, as well as several ministers of state, including parliamentary affairs, capital secretariat, Aden governorate, and women’s affairs.
The decree cites the Yemeni Constitution, the Gulf Cooperation Council initiative and its implementation mechanism, the 2022 Transfer of Power Declaration, and relevant laws governing the cabinet as the legal basis for forming a new government.
