DAMASCUS — Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, met with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shallah on Tuesday at the Conference Palace in Damascus on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the Damascus International Book Fair 2026, in which Saudi Arabia is participating as the guest of honor.
At the beginning of the meeting, Crown Prince Badr, along with greetings from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Prime Minister Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, expressed his wishes for the president’s health and well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of Syria and its people.
Crown Prince Badr also congratulated President Al-Shara on the opening of the 2026 Damascus International Book Fair.
The meeting underlined the depth of the brotherly relationship between the two countries and emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural cooperation and joint initiatives.
Many Saudi intellectuals who will be participating in the 2026 Damascus International Book Fair also attended the conference.
