Dubai: Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Commissioner of Dubai Police and Public Security, took part in a test trip aboard an Etihad Rail passenger train from Al Qudra in Dubai to Al Hilal City station in Fujairah.

He was accompanied by Etihad Rail CEO Shadi Malak, Major General Ahmed Al Maqkoodi from the Deputy Commissioner of Police and Public Security in Dubai, and several senior officials and Etihad Rail officials.

During the trip, Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan was briefed by Emirati experts on the latest developments in the national railway project, including the initial passenger line scheduled to open later this year. These routes connect Abu Dhabi (Mohammed Bin Zayed City), Dubai (Jumeirah Golf Estates) and Fujairah (Al Hilal City).

He was also briefed on future steps to expand the network to 11 stations, enhance connectivity and provide safe and reliable transport services across the Emirates.

Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan hailed the project as one of the UAE’s most important infrastructure initiatives, highlighting its role in supporting economic growth, sustainability and integrated national transportation, in line with the UAE leadership’s vision. He noted that Etihad Rail strengthens the UAE’s position as a regional and global logistics hub and embodies the spirit of the Union.

At the end of the trip, he expressed his gratitude to the team that led the project under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Te’ab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Railway.

Mr. Shadi Malak thanked Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan for the visit and asserted that the progress of the project reflects the leadership’s vision to develop an integrated and sustainable transport system.

The visit also included a tour of Fujairah’s Al Hilal City Passenger Station, where they reviewed the construction progress and were briefed on the station’s modern design and strategic location serving major residential and economic areas.
