Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Monday opened a women’s and maternity clinic at Al Awda Hospital in central Gaza.
The project, carried out in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), marks the completion of recovery and reconstruction work following extensive damage that forced the closure of the facility during the conflict with Israel.
The clinic’s rehabilitation is part of a broader effort to ensure access to essential services for Gaza’s affected population and promote maternal and newborn health.
The project targets the rehabilitation and support of the women’s and obstetric departments of three major hospitals: Friends of the Patients Hospital, Al Khail Hospital and Al Awda Hospital. It aims to improve the quality of reproductive health services and ensure that pregnant and breastfeeding women have access to safe healthcare.
This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts through KSrelief to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians and provide essential services amid the critical challenges facing Gaza’s health sector.
