The Garbia Security Directorate announced that its criminal investigation team, in coordination with the Damietta Security Directorate, led an extensive investigation to locate the suspect, which led to a raid on the apartment where he was hiding and his arrest.

The incident took place on Al Bahi Street in the First District of Mahalla Al Kubra, where a husband killed his wife due to a family dispute.

Details of the crime

Security authorities received a notification from the sheriff of Mahalla District 1 that a 38-year-old woman named Fatima A. was killed by her husband with multiple stab wounds to her body. Her husband used a knife to stab her 41 times.

The body was taken to Mahara General Hospital, where he was declared dead. The body was then stored in a morgue and later submitted to forensic medicine at the decision of the public prosecutor’s office.

Initial investigations revealed that the crime occurred in the context of a family dispute between the couple, while security authorities intensified efforts to track down the suspect, and as a result of extensive security coordination between the two agencies, search and investigation operations were able to locate and arrest the suspect.

In the same context, the forensic report states that there were 41 stab wounds on the body that were the immediate cause of death, and the public prosecutor’s office is continuing to investigate to clarify the full circumstances of the incident.

A report on the incident was prepared and notified to the public prosecutor’s office, which decided to put the case on hold while it began an investigation and completed the necessary legal procedures in preparation for bringing the defendant to trial.
