A horrifying accident occurred in the city of Gobenstein on Monday morning, when a train derailed between Gobenstein and Brig stations in Switzerland, causing possible injuries, according to a statement from the Valais cantonal police on the X-platform.

Accident details

Police said: “A train derailed at 7am (6am GMT), possibly resulting in casualties. Work is ongoing. Further details will follow.” Authorities have not provided details at this time about the number of injured or the circumstances of the accident.

Swiss Federal Railways confirmed on its website that train services between Gobenstein and Brig were suspended due to the avalanche, leading to service outages and passenger delays, but an investigation continues to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
