Oman’s Projects, Tendering and Regional Content Authority announced that the total value of the government’s upcoming development projects is estimated at more than 1.5 billion Romanians ($3.8 billion), including both approved and under consideration plans.

Key sectors involved in the tender include construction, procurement, public services, information technology, electromechanical contracting and the consultancy sector.

These sectors offer diverse opportunities to businesses across Oman’s governorates, supporting balanced geographical and sectoral development, Muscat Daily reported.

Authorities also reviewed construction projects distributed throughout the Sultanate’s provinces. These include ports, roads, dams, buildings, public facilities and maintenance works, as well as pipeline network projects and well drilling.

The review outlined bidding schedules and the status of each project, whether approved or under consideration, to allow companies to plan and prepare in advance, the report said, citing government officials.

Badr bin Salem Al Mamari, Chairman of the Directorate for Projects, Tendering and Local Content, said that the total amount includes more than RO475 million allocated to approved projects, while the value of projects currently under consideration exceeds ROD 1 billion.

He was speaking at the Government Projects Forum 2026 held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.

Officials revealed that around 10,000 tenders are planned across 57 government agencies.
