A successful test drive focused on premium on-road driving was held in the coastal city of Jeddah, known for its vibrant lifestyle and coastal charm.
On February 5th, iCAUR hosted representatives from X Media, including leading automotive media Motory.
They took part in a thorough driving experience featuring the all-round hybrid SUV V27, from city roads to intercity highways.
Media guests gathered at Jeddah’s luxury landmark Millionaire Restaurant, where the iCAUR Saudi Arabia team introduced the V27’s design philosophy and key technologies.
An open discussion then took place to give the media a clearer understanding of iCAUR’s brand vision and the core strengths of the V27 prior to the test drive.
The test drive route covered Jeddah’s urban roads and the intercity highway leading to King Abdullah Economic City, providing an ideal environment to evaluate the V27’s on-road performance under a variety of conditions.
For long highway trips, range and power remain important considerations, and the iCAUR V27 demonstrated solid on-road performance. As the brand’s first mass-produced model equipped with the Golden REEV system, the V27 is equipped with a dedicated 1.5T range extender engine with a thermal efficiency of 45.79%.
It generates 3.71kWh of electricity per liter of fuel and provides a total range of more than 1,000km, effectively addressing long-distance travel concerns.
In city traffic, the V27’s smooth and quiet ride was impressive.
The electric motor provides responsive linear acceleration and seamless start-stop performance for relaxed driving even in heavy traffic. Hit the gas pedal on the intercity highway and the dual motors unleash the full 455 horsepower, propelling the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in about 5 seconds. Overtaking and changing lanes feel effortless, and you never feel delayed at any point.
What’s even more impressive is that the 5-meter-long SUV has a chassis tuned by world-famous racing team Prodive and an i-AWD (intelligent all-wheel drive) system that maintains precise handling even in high-speed corners.
The steering felt responsive and refined, and the suspension provided solid support, completely reversing the common perception that large SUVs are unwieldy.
After the test drive, one media guest said, “I never expected such a large SUV to be so agile. It was fun to drive from start to finish.”

A previous test drive at Riyadh’s Edge of the World demonstrated the V27’s off-road capabilities in difficult conditions.
However, during our media test drive in Jeddah, we were able to experience first-hand the V27’s impressive performance in urban commuting and intercity highway scenarios. It not only overcomes the typical trade-off between power and range found in traditional new energy vehicles, but also seamlessly combines intelligent technology and precise handling to meet Saudi drivers’ key expectations for on-road performance.
The iCAUR V27 will be launched globally in the UAE on February 8th, followed by Bahrain on February 10th as a model tailored for the Middle East market.
The arrival of the V27 is expected to bring fresh energy and new possibilities to the premium new energy mobility segment in the region.
