Following attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel, Gulf states temporarily closed their airspace after intercepting rockets fired from Iran.
In Qatar, the military said in a statement that it had intercepted an Iranian missile before it could reach Qatari territory.
The Interior Ministry said no damage was reported.
Bahrain confirmed the attack on its territory and announced that a service center for the US 5th Fleet had been attacked.
The Kuwaiti military said it had responded to a missile attack in Kuwaiti airspace, and Jordan said it had shot down two Iranian ballistic missiles.
The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that it intercepted an Iranian missile attack.
One person was killed when a rocket was intercepted in the capital Abu Dhabi, state news agency WAM reported.
The UAE condemned the attack as a “clear violation of national sovereignty and international law.”
“We reserve the right to retaliate against any escalation,” he said.
Airlines around the world have suspended flights across the Middle East, with flight maps showing virtually empty skies over Iran.
