US President Donald Trump’s doctor has admitted that a rash on the right side of his neck is nothing to worry about, saying it was the result of using a “very common cream” as a preventative skin treatment.

In an official statement distributed by the White House, White House physician Sean Barbavera said the president was using a cream on the right side of his neck and the treatment lasted a week, but was expected to last several weeks until the redness disappeared.

President Trump’s health under a microscope

At 79 years old, Trump is the oldest U.S. president ever sworn in and has always been sensitive to questions about his health. These comments came against a backdrop of media and public interest in the president’s health, especially after he repeatedly expressed skepticism about his predecessor Joe Biden’s fitness to serve as president.

Health checkups reassured the public

Last year, President Trump underwent two comprehensive medical exams at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, one of which included cardiovascular imaging tests. Barbabella confirmed in December that the president “remains in good general health,” reassuring supporters and putting an end to rumors of concerns about the president’s health.
