The Saudi government on Tuesday discussed current developments in the region and their implications for regional and international security and stability.
Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the cabinet meeting, which was held via video conference.
The cabinet stressed that Saudi Arabia “will take all necessary measures to ensure security and protect its citizens and residents.”
The Cabinet was briefed on the contacts and consultations held in recent days regarding regional developments and their serious implications. The conference expressed its appreciation for the stand of the leaders of “fraternal and friendly countries condemning the reprehensible attack by Iran on Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan.”
The ministers reiterated Saudi Arabia’s full solidarity with the brotherly countries attacked by Iran and stressed that the Kingdom stands ready to “mobilize all its capabilities to support any measures taken by these countries in response to these attacks that undermine regional security and stability.”
The conference reviewed the hospitality and facilities provided to GCC nationals stranded at Saudi airports, ensuring comfort in their adopted home until the situation makes it safe to return to their home countries.
He hoped that the outcome of the recent emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation would strengthen coordination mechanisms among member states and support efforts to support the rights and cause of the fraternal Palestinian people.
The Cabinet highlighted Saudi Arabia’s new economic support for the Yemeni budget, saying it is a continuation of Saudi support for the Yemeni people, strengthens the foundations of stability and development, and reflects the depth of the two countries’ historic brotherly relations.
The Cabinet praised the significant progress achieved under the ambitious plan to increase gas production, characterized by the start of production from the first phase of the Jafra gas field and the commissioning of the Tanajib gas plant, in addition to the continued development of several other gas projects that will contribute to the achievement of Saudi economic growth goals.
