The Israeli military announced today (Thursday) that it had killed a Hezbollah cell operating inside the South Lebanon Army Command, while warning residents of southern Lebanon and calling on them to move just north of the Litani River.
“For several hours last night, troops of the 91st Division repelled a large number of Hezbollah members who were attempting to enter Hezbollah headquarters in the area where our forces operate in southern Lebanon, immediately targeting them,” military spokesman Afkai Adlai said.
Israeli forces attacked the area between Aba and Jebusit in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon, as well as the western town of Zawtar (a village in the Nabatieh district).
All four members of the family were killed when an Israeli military plane targeted a house in the village of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah (Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon). The Israeli march also targeted cars on the Zahleh Highway in Karak, Bekaa, eastern Lebanon.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said two people were killed and two civilians injured in the attack. According to the Lebanese News Agency, two attacks on the town of Khirbet Serm in the Dabsha region and Al-Arayed region resulted in numerous casualties.
The agency reported that the eastern town of Zautar had been bombed. The attack came hours after Israeli forces killed at least four people and injured six others in a raid on a house in the city of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon.
Yesterday, the Israeli military issued an order to evacuate the entire area south of Litani. This is a region that came under full control a few weeks ago, announcing the end of arms control.
The area extending from the river to the Blue Line is called the Southern Litani area. It covered an area of 850 square kilometers and was home to over 200,000 people. The most famous cities are Tire, Bint Jubail and Marjayoun.
The Litani River divides southern Lebanon into two regions, connected to each other by secondary and main bridges. The area located before the bridge to the capital Beirut is known as the Northern Litani area.

Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on the area between the towns of Arba and Jabsit in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh district, and the town of Zawtar al-Gharbi (a village in the Nabatieh district) was also hit by a similar airstrike.
Israeli military aircraft targeted a house in the village of Zawtar al-Sharki (Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon), killing all four members of the family. Additionally, Israeli drones targeted cars on the Saar highway in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa region.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said two people were killed and two others injured in the airstrike. According to the Lebanese News Agency, several people were injured in two airstrikes on the town of Kerbet Serm in the Dabshah and al-Arid regions.
The agency reported that the airstrike targeted the town of Zawtar al-Sharki hours after an Israeli airstrike killed at least four people and wounded six others in the eastern Lebanese city of Baalbek.
The Israeli military yesterday ordered the evacuation of the entire area south of the Litani River, which it announced weeks ago that it had fully secured.
The area extending from the riverbed towards the Blue Line, known as the Southern Litani region, covers an area of 850 square kilometers and was once home to more than 200,000 people, including major cities such as Tire, Bint Jubail, and Marjayoun.
The Litani River divides southern Lebanon into two areas connected by a secondary bridge and a main bridge, with the area before the bridge towards the capital Beirut known as the North Litani area.
