According to the network’s operational indicators, the Holy Mosque of Makkah has seen an increase of more than 21% in internet data traffic, and more than 48% of internet traffic is transmitted via fifth generation technology, an increase of 18% compared to last year. The network also recorded a more than 40% increase in internet data traffic at Civil Mosque, with more than 48% of the traffic passing through fifth generation technology, an increase of 67% compared to last year.
In terms of voice traffic, the network recorded an increase of 5% in the Holy Mosque of Makkah and 14% in the Medina Mosque compared to last year. This is an indicator that reflects the high operational efficiency of the network and its ability to accommodate a significant increase in visitors and pilgrims, while maintaining the quality of service and achieving standard performance indicators.
In addition to preparing for the Umrah period, stc Group expanded its network capabilities by developing and modernizing more than 600 communication towers in Makkah and 470 communication towers in Medina to meet increased demand and accommodate the significant increase in the number of visitors and pilgrims during the peak season of the holy month of Ramadan.
