Doha – Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on Saturday an alternative logistics solution to transport goods to Qatar through the transport system via the land border with Saudi Arabia.
In a statement published in
The move aims to ensure the continuity of commercial activities and facilitate the transportation of goods and cargo amid the current regional situation.
The chamber said the new system includes special customs facilities such as fast-track lanes for cargo and expedited customs clearance through the electronic customs clearance system “Al Nadeeb”.
Shipping companies were also asked to register with the TIR International Road Transport System in order to maintain the flow of cargo under the current regional situation.
The move comes after Qatar’s air navigation operations have been suspended since February 28 following Iranian attacks by the United States and Israel that targeted the country and other Arab countries.
Early Saturday morning, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority announced the partial resumption of Qatar Airways operations through designated emergency air routes from Sunday.
The TIR system is an international customs transportation framework that allows goods to move quickly from origin to destination in sealed containers under customs supervision throughout the supply chain.
According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar joined the TIR Treaty in January 2019, and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry was designated as the national guarantor and issuer of TIR carnets in the country.
The system has been integrated with the Al Nadeeb platform since May 2025, allowing exporters, importers and transport operators to complete procedures electronically without using paper documents.
The TIR network currently covers approximately 76 countries around the world, with more countries continuing to join the system.
