Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jassim Mohamed Al-Budawi condemned the attacks by Iran that targeted the infrastructure of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the countries of Kuwait, stressing that the attacks reflect an escalating approach that threatens security and stability in the region.
Mr. Al-Budawi explained that targeting critical facilities and civilian infrastructure is a clear violation of international norms and practices, contrary to the principles of international law and values of good neighborliness, and warned that such actions could undermine the security of GCC countries and undermine the stability of global energy markets.
He also called on the international community to take responsibility and take a firm stand to stop these repeated attacks and stop acts that threaten regional and international peace and security.
The Secretary-General reaffirmed the full solidarity of the GCC States with Bahrain and Kuwait and emphasized the support of the Security Council in all measures taken to protect the security of the GCC States, maintain their sovereignty and maintain the security of their vital facilities.
