Q Mobility has announced that it will begin offering paid parking in a new sector in Mussafah City, Abu Dhabi, under the regulatory oversight of the Ministry of Local Government and Transport’s Integrated Transport Centre. The measures come as part of an ongoing phased expansion plan that began in January 2026, with the aim of regulating the use of public parking lots and enhancing traffic flow in key areas of the emirate.
The third phase of the introduction of paid parking in Mussafah will start on May 18, 2026 and will include sectors M5, M6, M21, M22 and M23. A total of 3,921 surface parking spaces will be operational at this stage, distributed across M5 (661 spaces), M6 (710 spaces), M21 (1,100 spaces), M22 (800 spaces) and M23 (650 spaces).
Reflecting Q Mobility’s commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility, a dedicated People of Determination parking space is also included, ensuring access and convenience for all users in the area.
Mussafah is one of Abu Dhabi’s major industrial and commercial districts, with high traffic volumes due to its diverse economic and service activities and daily influx of workers and tourists. This strengthens its position as an important industrial and investment center. As demand for public parking increases, challenges such as limited available parking spaces and irregular parking practices emerge, impacting traffic flow and movement efficiency within the area.
The introduction of the third phase of the paid parking system is part of efforts to address these challenges by regulating parking use, reducing congestion and illegal parking, and improving overall traffic circulation. This will contribute to the realization of a more organized and efficient business environment, including smooth access to various facilities, improved traffic safety, and support for economic activities by improving the mobility of employees and visitors.
The first phase of activation of the paid parking system in Mussafah began on January 12, 2026 and covered sectors M1, M2, M3, M4 and M24. This was followed by the second phase, which started on April 20, 2026 and included sectors M7, M8, M9, M14, and M15. Both phases contributed to improving traffic flow and regulating parking behavior in key areas of the emirate.
Surface parking spaces designated under this system are subject to a charge of AED 2 per hour. Payments can be made through multiple digital channels including ‘Darb’ and ‘TAMM’ applications, SMS and on-site payment machines. This ensures the continued development of the emirate’s parking system, improving operational efficiency and providing a smooth and user-friendly experience.
