Central Bank of Egypt reveals amount of remittances from Egyptians abroad in 2025 – Saudi News

In 2025, remittances from Egyptians working abroad will increase by 40.5% to approximately $41.5 billion, compared to approximately $29.6 billion in 2024, marking a record outflow.

Remittances from Egyptians working abroad are one of Egypt’s most important sources of foreign exchange income, in addition to income from the Suez Canal, tourism income, and export income.

According to an official statement issued by the Central Bank of Egypt, remittances in the first half of the 2025/2026 fiscal year (July-December 2025 period) increased at a rate of 29.6%, reaching approximately $22.1 billion, compared to approximately $17.1 billion in the July-December 2024 period.

At the monthly level, remittances increased by 24.0% in December 2025, reaching an all-time high of approximately $4 billion in December 2025, compared to approximately $3.2 billion in December 2024.

In 2025, remittances from Egyptians working abroad reached an unprecedented record high, increasing by 40.5% to approximately $41.5 billion, compared to approximately $29.6 billion in 2024.

Remittances from Egyptians working abroad are one of Egypt’s most important sources of foreign exchange, along with income from the Suez Canal, tourism and export earnings.

According to an official statement issued by the Central Bank of Egypt, remittances in the first half of the 2025/2026 fiscal year (period from July to December 2025) increased by 29.6% to approximately $22.1 billion, compared to approximately $17.1 billion in the period from July to December 2024.

On a monthly basis, the amount of remittances in December 2025 increased by 24.0% compared to about $3.2 billion in December 2024, reaching about $4 billion, the highest monthly level in history.
