On May 23, 2024, Lavazza, the famous Italian coffee company, opened its innovative Lavazza Coffee Design in Riyadh. Located in the lively Laysen Valley, this new spot offers a new take on the coffee experience in Saudi Arabia.
Lavazza Coffee Design isn’t just a traditional coffee shop, it’s more of a journey into Italian culture, food, and creativity. Drawing inspiration from Lavazza’s infamous stores in London and Milan, the Riyadh location features a modern design, and their highlights include a chandelier with over 300 lit coffee beans and a unique counter made from recycled coffee grounds and resin.
Gloria Bagdadli, Global Retailing Director at Lavazza Group, said, “Lavazza Coffee Design will introduce Saudi consumers to great Italian coffee and a mix of top gastronomy, design, and culture.” This opening ideally aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and was made possible through a partnership with franchisee Tazweed Saudi, part of the Al Babtain group.
The Riyadh store also introduces Lavazza’s premium 1895 coffee collection to Saudi Arabia, a collection featuring rare and specialty coffees from around the world, bringing visitors a unique coffee experience.
In addition, there is also a collaboration with Michelin-starred Chef Igor Macchia, who created a menu that perfectly pairs with Lavazza’s coffee, where guests can enjoy specialty breakfasts, savory dishes, and a variety of delicious, carefully prepared, desserts.
