DUBAI — A concourse at Dubai International Airport (DXB) sustained minor damage and four employees were injured on Saturday as Iran fired missiles at the UAE and other countries in retaliation for attacks by the United States and Israel.

Dubai Airports said in a post on X that the damage was caused by an accident and quickly subsided.

“An emergency response team was immediately deployed and is working with relevant authorities to manage the situation,” the statement said.

Four staff members were injured and immediately received medical treatment.

Dubai Media Office said most terminals had been cleared of passengers before the incident as contingency plans were already in place.

According to reports, the damage occurred at Terminal 3, with some media outlets pointing to the possibility of a missile attack.

The situation escalated after simultaneous attacks by the United States and Israel earlier in the day. Iran responded by firing missiles at the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait.

Several of these countries closed their airspace to commercial traffic, and air travel in much of the Middle East came to a halt. Many regional airlines suspended operations.

On February 28, Emirates canceled 492 flights, flydubai canceled 329 and Etihad Airways 212, according to FlightAware data.

US President Donald Trump later acknowledged that the airstrike killed several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

Dubai authorities said further updates will be provided as they become available.
