Makkah, Saudi Arabia – March 16, 2025, In line with its ongoing efforts to enhance the spiritual and physical well-being of all visitors during the holy month of Ramadan, the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has established special prayer rooms for women at the Grand Mosque. These dedicated spaces are designed to provide women with a comfortable, safe, and well-equipped environment to engage in worship, ensuring that their spiritual experience is both fulfilling and convenient.
The prayer rooms are equipped with a range of integrated services aimed at supporting the needs of women throughout their time at the Grand Mosque. Healthcare support is a key component, with emergency medical teams on standby to address any health concerns or emergencies that may arise. Additionally, a lost-and-found service has been put in place to assist women in quickly retrieving any misplaced items, helping to alleviate stress and ensure a smooth visit.
As part of its efforts to foster spiritual growth, the authority has also organized Quran memorization and recitation correction sessions within these designated spaces. These sessions provide an opportunity for worshippers to deepen their connection to the Quran and improve their recitation skills under the guidance of qualified instructors.
In the spirit of compassion and hospitality, the General Authority is distributing daily iftar meals to fasting women, ensuring they have access to nutritious food as they break their fast during Ramadan. Translated copies of the Quran are also made available in various languages, allowing non-Arabic speaking worshippers to read and reflect on the sacred text with greater understanding.
Recognizing the importance of guidance in performing religious rituals, the authority has implemented counseling and advisory services in the prayer rooms. These services offer assistance to women on religious matters, helping them perform their prayers and rituals with confidence and clarity. To further enhance the experience, organized entry and exit procedures are in place to ensure smooth movement within the prayer areas and corridors, minimizing congestion and promoting a peaceful atmosphere.
