Egypt… ‘felons’ bring down the curtain on the ‘dark web’ with life sentences for five defendants – Saudi News

After a two-year investigation and shocking revelations that captured public opinion, Egypt’s Court of Criminal Appeals for Terrorism and State Security Crimes on Sunday closed one of the ugliest electronic crime cases in the country’s modern history, known in the media as the “dark web case.”

The court sentenced the main instigator of the incident to life imprisonment (15 years) and a fine of £1 million because he was a minor, while the other four defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment and fines of £1 million each.

Teenagers lead foreign terrorist networks

Case documents reveal a terrifying scenario in which our heroes cross the border. This crime thread was managed by a 15-year-old teenage boy named “Ali” who lives outside of Egypt. The minor exploited his father’s bank data to access the dark side of the Internet, the “dark web”, and began inciting people in several Egyptian governorates to commit brutal crimes against children and photographing them with the aim of selling them and trading them on illegal platforms in exchange for large sums of money.

A child caught in the “gift” trap

The details of the incident that took place in Alexandria province revealed the dark side of human brutality. The four defendants, under the direction and planning of an overseas teenager, successfully tricked innocent children into offering gifts.

The victim was taken to the apartment of one of the suspects and fully drugged through the fulfillment of a dirty financial arrangement through the “dark web” that provided for the taking of photographs while the child was being assaulted. The problems didn’t end there, but the coded orders included severing the child’s artery and photographing him bleeding before leaving him behind to return him to his family once he woke up from his coma.

documented truth

Although the defendant’s lawyers tried to rely on “deceit and misleading” tactics by outside instigators to obtain a reduced sentence, the criminal court, presented with a detailed confession recorded on audio and video, and supported by decisive technical and field investigations, sought to end the tragedy with a deterrent verdict that purged society of the wolves of the dark web.
