RIYADH — The National Meteorological Center has predicted moderate to heavy rain in most parts of Saudi Arabia starting Friday and continuing until Tuesday.
Affected areas include Asir, Jazan, Najran, Al-Baha, Mecca, Riyadh, Eastern Province, Qassim, and the northern border.
The center appealed to the public to follow official weather advisories and warnings through its website, social media platforms and Anwaa app.
The Directorate General of Civil Defense also called on residents to exercise caution, stay in safe areas, avoid flood-prone areas and ravines, and refrain from swimming there.
According to the forecast, there will be moderate to heavy rain that may cause flash flooding, hail, dust and strong downwind winds causing reduced visibility in the Mecca region, affecting areas such as Turba, Almoya, Alkrumah, Ranya, Taif, Meysan, Addam, Al-Diyat, Al-Rais, Al-Kunfda, Mecca City, Al-Jumm, Bahra, and Al-Kamil.
Moderate to heavy rain is expected in the Riyadh region with similar weather conditions, including Wadi Al Dawasir, Al Thurayil, Al Ahraj, Riyadh City, Al Diram, Al Muzahimiya, Durma, Al Qidiya, Diriyah and Hotat. There is less rain in To Bani Tamim, Al Khaliq, Al Khalji, Marat, Afif, Al Dawadmi, Al Quwayyah, Al Reyn, Rumah, Shakra, Al Majmaa, Al Zurfi, Al Ghat, and Tadik.
Moderate to heavy rain is also expected in Asir, Jazan, Najran, Al-Baha and Eastern Province, while light rain is expected in Qasim, the northern border and Madinah.
Officials emphasized the importance of observing safety instructions and avoiding dangerous areas under weather conditions.
