Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed that the club’s management has rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s huge offer worth 250 million euros to sign young talent Lamine Yamal.
Laporta explained that the offer was made taking into account the player’s outstanding talent, especially after his outstanding performance at the 2024 European Championship, in which he played an influential role in the Spanish national team’s title win, and the Parisian club’s interest in acquiring the player increased.
Laporta pointed out that the decision to refuse was made despite Barcelona being in financial trouble at the time, stressing that the regime wanted to preserve one of the club’s most prominent future talents rather than let him go in exchange for immediate financial gain, a move that seemed bold to some given the difficult economic circumstances.
