Mecca — Hundreds of thousands of worshipers offered special Isha and Taraweeh prayers on the first night of Ramadan at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. The scene reflected the spirituality of the holy month in two of Islam’s three holiest sites and its place in the hearts of Muslims. A series of integrated prayers and organizational measures taken by Haram authorities helped provide a safe and smooth worship environment for believers.
The General Administration of the Great Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, in coordination with relevant agencies, have completed operational preparations to receive worshipers. This authority aimed to provide the best possible service to visitors and worshipers, allowing them to perform their rituals easily, comfortably and quietly.

They performed taraweeh prayers in an atmosphere characterized by calm and orderly movements. Follow-up on the ground helped maintain traffic flow in the mosque and its courtyard. This initiative supports smooth entry and exit, improves walkways, directs worshipers to places of worship, and facilitates the performance of rituals.

At the Prophet’s Mosque, a large number of worshipers offered Isha and Tarawih prayers in a spiritually charged atmosphere and comprehensive services provided to worshipers. The courtyard and extension area of the mosque was prepared to accommodate a large number of people, carpeted, and provided with Zamzam water and other support services.
