During his visit to the Kingdom of Belgium, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al Khorayev discussed ways to develop the economic partnership between the Kingdom and the European Union, a step aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s role as a vital partner in supporting global economic security, strengthening supply chain integration, ensuring the smooth flow of international trade and securing supplies of critical minerals.
Mr. Al-Kholayef met with the European Commissioner for Mediterranean Affairs and discussed the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation and increasing the level of coordination on common interests in a way that increases regional and international economic stability and enhances economic resilience in the face of global transformation.
He also met with the European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, whose agenda included securing critical minerals, strengthening cooperation in the area of trade and supply chain security, exploring opportunities for industrial value chain integration between Saudi Arabia and European Union countries, and increasing joint investments in priority sectors.
These meetings are part of the program of the Minister’s visit to Belgium, with the aim of exchanging experiences with European countries in advanced industries and attracting qualitative investments that support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Alongside the visit, Mr. Al-Khoraief held a roundtable discussion with leading Belgian companies and a number of investors, during which he highlighted the role of Vision 2030 in enabling industrial transformation and maximizing the contribution of both sectors to the diversification of the national economy, as well as exploring opportunities to deepen partnerships in the industrial and mining sectors.
