The Integrated Transport Center (ITC), an affiliate of the Abu Dhabi Department of Local Government and Transport, represented by Acting Director-General Abdullah Hamad Alghferi, signed a series of strategic memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with selected key local and international private sector partners in conjunction with the recent UMEX and SimTEX 2026.
These MoUs were signed under the guidance of the Smart Autonomous Systems Council (SASC) and reflect ITC’s commitment to strengthening Abu Dhabi’s smart autonomous mobility ecosystem, accelerating innovation and deploying future-ready technologies across air, land and sea mobility, in line with the emirate’s vision for a safe, smart and sustainable transportation system.
ITC has signed a memorandum of understanding with Manta International and Altair Advisory LLC to support joint collaboration and accelerate Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). The MoU aims to establish a comprehensive framework for cooperation in advanced aircraft technology with AAM, supporting consulting assistance, innovation initiatives and pilot projects, as well as testing activities and certification and approval processes. It will also support the localization of the manufacturing and marketing of Manta aerial work platforms within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, serving as a reference framework to strengthen the Emirate’s strategic direction towards a future mobility ecosystem built on safety and sustainability.
ITC also signed a memorandum of understanding with Nota AI to collaborate on the research and development of a generative AI-enabled traffic incident management system that integrates computer vision, large-scale language models (LLM), and collaborative intelligent transportation systems (C-ITS) within a framework that supports the implementation, evaluation, and expansion of field trials across Abu Dhabi.
The MoU focuses on developing smart traffic management solutions, computer vision analytics, and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications while enhancing governance standards, privacy protection, and cybersecurity.
The collaboration will include pilot projects, development of regulatory frameworks and standards, integration of technology solutions with ITC’s traffic control centers and smart platforms, as well as training, capacity building and documentation of lessons learned.
In the maritime sector, ITC signed a memorandum of understanding with V-Drive to collaborate in the development and operation of autonomous water transportation systems for passenger mobility across Abu Dhabi’s waterways.
This MoU is intended to design, develop and implement an initial pilot model for operating autonomous boats, conduct the necessary technical tests and operational performance evaluations, oversee day-to-day operations through control systems, and ensure that boat operations between marinas meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency and reliability.
These MoUs underscore ITC’s central role as a regulatory and strategic partner in enabling innovation, building high-impact private sector partnerships, and supporting the transition to integrated smart mobility systems, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading regional and global hub for future mobility innovation.
