Yesterday (Tuesday), security authorities in Iraq’s Kirkuk province launched a major investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the drowned body of a young woman in her parents’ swimming pool in the People’s Action district in the east of the province.
Security sources said they stressed that the 24-year-old victim died under suspicious circumstances and that the initial investigation by forensic police, which monitored indicators and evidence at the crime scene that refuted the hypothesis of accidental drowning, led directly to murder charges against the young woman’s brother.
investigation continues
Judicial and security authorities are continuing to interrogate suspects and gathering evidence to establish the basis for the incident and the motive, and are prepared to take strict legal action if the sister’s involvement in the liquidation is officially proven.
It is worth noting that Kirkuk province itself was shaken a few days ago by a horrific family crime in which a young man killed his 30-year-old sister with 37 stab wounds after a family dispute. This once again highlights the escalation of domestic violence and the impact of uncontrolled weapons in resolving family conflicts.
