Jordan’s Directorate General of Public Security said it was dealing with two old artillery shells discovered by a contractor during excavation work in the city of Irbid, 71 kilometers north of Jordan’s capital Amman.
Jordan’s Director of Public Security said in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Okaz, that the contractor would place them in the car and notify the relevant security center, which would be dealt with by a specialized team.
The General Directorate of Public Security called on anyone who suspects such objects not to touch them or move them from the location, not to approach them, and to report to the competent authorities through the unified emergency number (911).
