RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman said National Day on February 22 is an opportunity to remember the establishment of the Saudi state.
In a post on X, King Salman wrote, “On this glorious day, we remember the founding of a blessed nation established by our forefathers on the basis of the word of monotheism, the pursuit of justice, and the unity of the people under one flag, achieving security and prosperity by the grace of God.”
He pointed out that Saudi security, stability and development stem from firm principles that unite the people under one flag.
King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received congratulatory telegrams from Gulf, Arab and Islamic leaders to mark National Day.
The message praised Saudi Arabia’s international standing, development achievements, and role in supporting regional security and peace.
The leaders also expressed their appreciation for the relationship between Saudi Arabia and their countries and efforts to strengthen cooperation in various fields.
This year’s National Day coincides with the holy month of Ramadan. Cultural and entertainment events were held in all regions on Sunday, with streets across the kingdom decorated with greenery and traditional costumes.
Riyadh and other cities have become destinations for thousands of nationals, residents and visitors who take part in activities that highlight the historical roots of the Saudi state, which was first established three centuries ago.
