Kremlin warns: America is strangling Cuba and the situation is critical – Saudi News

Russia warned of an attempt by the United States to strangle Cuba after Cuban authorities told airlines flying to and from the country that they would cut off kerosene supplies for a month.

serious energy crisis

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced at a press conference on Monday that Cuba’s fuel crisis is critical. According to Reuters, he said the US attempt to “suffocate” Cuba was causing many difficulties. He reported that Russia is in contact with long-time partner Havana to discuss ways to resolve these issues.

Cuba is facing a severe energy crisis after Venezuela cut off oil supplies under pressure from the United States, which threatened to impose tariffs on oil exporters. US President Donald Trump last week signed an executive order imposing tariffs on countries selling oil to Havana. Havana accused President Trump of wanting to “suppress” the Caribbean island’s economy, where power outages and fuel shortages are worsening.

Criticism of NATO and Europe

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reiterated his criticism of NATO and the European Union, citing their position on Ukraine and the conflict with Russia.

In an interview with the BRICS TV channel today, Monday, he considered that NATO has not fulfilled its promise to Russia not to expand to the east. He believes the European Union has “completely submitted to the actions of the West,” adding that the European Union is “disappearing.”

Foreign Minister Lavrov pointed out that “Western countries are trying to maintain a unipolar world based on the role of the dollar and the institutions it created,” but he believed this was impossible. “It will be impossible to achieve this and still contain the rise of new growth centers such as India, Brazil and China,” he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently spoken several times about breaking away from unilateralism and aimed to strengthen ties with countries such as China and India.

It is worth noting that over the past few years, Mr. Lavrov and other Russian politicians have strongly criticized the positions of NATO and the European Union, especially regarding the conflict with Ukraine. That’s because, like European countries, the Defense Alliance is on Kiev’s side, providing political and military support while imposing hundreds of sanctions on Moscow.

The Russian government has repeatedly criticized the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), believing it to be waging war against NATO and threatening its strategic security by expanding into its surrounding regions.

Russia has warned against US attempts to suffocate Cuba, after notifying Cuban authorities and airlines operating flights to and from the country that it would suspend kerosene supplies for a month.

According to Reuters, he said the United States’ attempt to “suffocate” Cuba was causing many difficulties. He reported that Russia is in contact with its old partner Havana to discuss ways to resolve these issues.

Criticism of NATO and Europe

On a different note, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov once again criticized the positions of NATO and the European Union regarding the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

In an interview with the “BRICS” television channel today, Monday, he considered that NATO has not fulfilled its promise with Russia not to expand to the east. He deemed the European Union to have “completely succumbed to the actions of the West,” adding that it was “on the decline.”

Foreign Minister Lavrov pointed out that “Western countries are trying to maintain a unipolar world based on the role of the dollar and the institutions it created,” but he believed this was impossible. “It is impossible to achieve this while limiting the rise of new growth centers such as India, Brazil and China,” he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken many times in the past about breaking away from unipolarity and has sought to strengthen ties with countries such as China and India.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Lavrov and other Russian politicians have been fiercely critical of NATO and the EU in recent years, particularly regarding the conflict with Ukraine. The Defense Alliance and European countries have aligned with Kiev, providing political and military support while imposing hundreds of sanctions on Moscow.

The Russian government has repeatedly accused the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) of waging war against NATO and threatening its strategic security with its expansion into the region.
