“Meteorology”: Rain and fog in four regions – Saudi News

The National Meteorological Center predicted in its weather forecast for today (Saturday) that light rain and fog may occur in parts of the highlands of Jizan, Asir, Al-Baha and Makkah regions, extending to parts of Riyadh and Sharqiyah regions, while active winds that stir up dust and dirt will continue to affect parts of these regions and the coastal areas of Tabuk and Medina regions. Temperatures also continue to drop significantly, with early morning frost possible in parts of the northern part of the kingdom.

According to the report, the surface winds in the Red Sea are from the northwest to the north, ranging from 20 to 40 km/h in the northern and central regions, reaching speeds of 15 to 32 km/h with the formation of thunderclouds, reaching 45 km/h, and wave heights of 1 to 2 meters in the northern and central regions, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the south, reaching over 2 meters with the formation of rain clouds. Sea conditions will be small to medium waves, with thunderclouds forming and reaching waves. It’s raining in the south.

In the Arabian Gulf, rain thunderclouds have formed in the north, moving from northwest to northeast at a speed of 10-25 km per hour, reaching 40 km per hour, and in the south-central region, moving from southeast to northeast at 10-22 km per hour, with wave heights of 0.5 meters to 1 meter, up to 2 meters; rain thunder clouds have formed in the north, and the sea condition is light to wavy. Rainy thunderclouds form in the north.

Meanwhile, active winds that stir up dust and sand continue in some of these areas, as well as along the coasts of Tabuk and Madinah regions. Additionally, temperatures are expected to continue to drop significantly, with early morning frost possible in parts of northern Saudi Arabia.

According to the report, surface winds over the Red Sea are northwesterly to northerly, with wind speeds of 20-40 km/h in the northern and central regions, and 15-32 km/h, reaching maximum speeds of 45 km/h as thunderstorm clouds form. Wave heights range from 1 meter to 2 meters in the northern and central regions, 0.5 meters to 1.5 meters in the south, and exceed 2 meters when rainy thunderstorm clouds occur. Sea conditions were small to medium waves, with rain clouds forming in the south and becoming rough.

In the Arabian Gulf, northwest to northeast winds blow at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, reaching wind speeds of 40 km/h in the north, forming rainy thunderstorm clouds. In the central and southern regions, wind speeds range from 10 to 22 km/h, blowing from southeast to northeast. Wave height ranges from 0.5 meters to 1 meter, reaching 2 meters when rainy thunderstorm clouds form in the north. The sea conditions were rough with weak waves and rain clouds forming in the north.
