Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Fassal revealed that the construction of Aramco Stadium is progressing according to the specified schedule, explaining that the completion rate has reached about 80% and it is expected to host the 2027 Asian Cup matches early next year. He said this in an interview with Reuters, in which he expressed hope that the Saudi national team can surpass its 1994 World Cup performance during its current participation period.
He said: “The ticket price file represents one of the aspects that Saudi Arabia will discuss with FIFA during the preparation of the tournament, since Saudi Arabia is the entity that owns the tickets and is responsible for setting prices. However, Saudi Arabia wants the tournament to have access to the largest number of fans.”
The Sports Minister indicated that the Kingdom has significantly expanded its e-visa program over the past few years, explaining that nationals of more than 60 countries can now obtain an e-visa or visa on arrival, and more countries are expected to be added in the future, stressing that Saudi executives have organized and hosted more than 150 international sporting events and have sufficient experience in receiving visitors to sporting events.
He explained that Saudi Arabia is continuously working with security agencies and competent authorities to ensure the highest level of readiness to receive fans and visitors during major sporting events.
