The Saudi-based Misk Foundation has appointed the Faculty of Engineering. Strategic development expert Sami bin Jasser Al Jasser has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of the giant Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City (Misk City), the first project of its kind to be launched in a 3.4 square kilometer area of the capital Riyadh.
Led by the Misk Foundation, the kingdom’s ambitious project is being built with a total investment of R20.4 billion ($5.4 billion).
The world’s first non-profit city was established by His Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Founder and Chairman of the Misk Foundation. Freycinet Saudi Arabia, a major contractor, is the construction partner for this project.
Work on the project is in full swing, with the basement of Misk City’s first hotel already completed and the Misk Art studio building topped out.
Work on the Misk Foundation headquarters is progressing well, with work on the multi-deck car park and one of its schools at an advanced stage.
Once fully completed, Misc City will boast approximately 99,000 square meters of retail and leisure space, 300,000 square meters of office space, 6,500 new residential units, and extensive cultural, educational and sports facilities. -TradeArabia News Service
