The general consumer price index (inflation rate) in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 1.4% in January last year compared to the same month in 2025.

According to data from the National Center for Statistics and Information, at the top of the list of increases was various personal goods and services, which recorded a significant increase of 13.2%, followed by the restaurant and hotel group with a 5.9% increase, followed by the furniture, fixtures, home appliances and maintenance group with 2.6%, followed by the education group with 2.2%, the health group with 1.7%, and the food and beverage group. It decreased by 0.9%, the clothing and footwear group by 0.1%, and the transportation group by 0.3%.
Prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, the culture and entertainment sector, and the communications sector also remained stable.

On the other hand, the transportation sector decreased by 0.3%.
Prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel groups, culture and recreation group, and communication group remained unchanged.
