Yesterday (Sunday), al-Arda al-Janubi poet Abdullah bin Aida al-Baydani al-Zahrani was returning to his home in Al-Baha region from Al-Maqwa governorate when his blood sugar levels suddenly dropped and he was involved in a traffic accident.
The incident left him with broken bones and scattered bruises, but his condition is reported to be stable and arrangements are being made to transfer him to King Fahd Hospital in Al-Bah to complete tests and treatment, according to sources close to the incident.
Concerns are growing among his fans
The spread of the news on social media platforms caused a wave of concern among fans of poet al-Arda. Alda is considered one of the most popular poets in the southern region due to his striking presence, unique voice, and great poetic style.
A journey full of giving
Al-Baydani was born in 1380 AH in the village of Bani Hurairah in the Al-Baha region. He began his career in poetry at an early age in 1394 AH, and the beginning of his education was at Albaja School.
During his professional career, he held numerous leadership positions, including appointment as Deputy Governor of Al-Mandak Province, in addition to a prominent presence at national festivals and official events.
His followers describe him as an “extraordinary” poet, particularly skilled in the art of reply and poetry, as well as his mastery of poetry expressing wisdom, enthusiasm, virginal flirtation, and advice. Despite the title he won, he was known to reject it, preferring to be called by an abstract name.
With his rich poetry and generous donations, Al-Baydani has enjoyed a special place among his fans and remains one of the most prominent voices in the popular Arda stadium.
“Okaz” wishes poet Abu Majid a speedy recovery and early return to the field of performance in which he has always shined.
