President Putin supports unifying Syria…Alshara: “We have overcome many obstacles” – Saudi News

Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed today (Wednesday) in a meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa that Moscow and Damascus were able to revive cooperation in the economic field after a period of stagnation.

“Remarkable progress has been made and this trend needs to be maintained,” Putin said, praising the Syrian leadership’s efforts to preserve the country’s unity.

“Our relationship with Syria has deep roots,” he added, emphasizing Japan’s eagerness to expand economic and trade cooperation with Syria.

The Russian president emphasized his support for Syria’s territorial integrity and expressed his country’s readiness to participate in Syria’s reconstruction.

In response, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa expressed his pleasure at the visit and explained that there are many common issues between Moscow and Damascus.

Foreign Minister Al-Sharah said, “Over the past year, Syria has overcome many obstacles, the most recent of which is the challenge of territorial unification,” indicating Russia’s positive attitude toward Syria’s unification and territorial integrity.
