US President Donald Trump made it clear today (Saturday) that there are several alternative options after the attack on Iran, according to the Axios website.
Considering it will take years for Iran to recover from this major attack, President Trump predicted the war would last three days, saying, “We can continue the Iran operation and end the problem once and for all within two or three days.”
The US president said that if Iran had not attacked its nuclear facilities last June, it would have developed nuclear weapons and today’s attack would not have been possible, and suggested that the schedule for the operation could change based on developments on the ground, particularly the fate of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei.
He noted that he had a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which he described as “great,” and stressed that they were in complete agreement regarding Iran.
Axios quoted American officials as saying that the U.S. and Israeli plans to attack Iran include an intense bombing campaign lasting at least five days.
A U.S. official said that ahead of the Operation Epic Rage attack on Iran, President Donald Trump received a frank assessment of the potential for significant damage to the U.S. military and the potential for generational changes in the Middle East to benefit the United States.
Israeli officials said the attack on Iran, which began Saturday, was likely to last at least several days and also included targets described as highly sensitive.
