President Donald Trump announced that his objections to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to cancel the tariffs include the existence of authority to impose tariffs.

He indicated that his administration is working on a plan to raise tariffs on all imports to 15% within five months.

President Trump said, “There’s some really great passages in that opinion from a legal standpoint, and Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote an amazing dissent to the Supreme Court’s decision, but in that dissent he made clear what we need to do.” “We just wanted to simplify the issue, and I think it would be very foolish for the court to say no for some reason, but the court said it could be resolved in many other ways, and that’s what we’re doing now.”

various definitions

He added: “What we did was we adopted a simple, direct tariff of 15%. We raised hundreds of billions of dollars for our country because of the tariffs. We got all these funds, hundreds of billions of dollars. Frankly, it made our country richer, so that was a positive.”

He said various investigations and other measures were being carried out during this period, and different tariffs would be announced for each country.

“There are several paragraphs in our opinion that are very good from a legal standpoint, and Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote an amazing dissent to the Supreme Court’s decision, but in that dissent it makes clear what we need to do,” Trump said. He said various investigations and other procedures were ongoing during this period and different tariffs would be announced for each country.
