RIYADH — Education ministries in various regions of Saudi Arabia have approved revised school schedules for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. Classes start at 9 a.m. in some regions, and at 9:30 a.m. or 10 a.m. in others.
These adjustments reflect the Faculty’s commitment to fostering an appropriate learning environment for students and staff, given the unique spiritual and daily rhythms of the holy month.
The Qassim Regional Directorate of Education announced that classes in public schools will begin at 10 a.m. and classes in adult education institutions will begin at 9:30 p.m. The Directorate further clarified that faculty and staff must report 15 minutes before the start of the first class period.
Similarly, the Makkah Regional Education Directorate confirmed that morning school will begin at 9 a.m. and adult education classes will begin at 9:30 p.m. The directorate also said that the official working hours of all employees during Ramadan will be five hours a day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., to ensure continuous work efficiency and maintenance of management discipline throughout the month.
He emphasized that these arrangements are designed to accommodate the conditions of fasting, while striking a careful balance between educational responsibilities and Ramadan observance. School officials were required to strictly adhere to the approved schedule and work closely with the broader educational community to ensure smooth running of classes and the attainment of the highest standards of academic performance and discipline.
Meanwhile, Riyadh’s Ministry of Education announced that morning classes will begin at 9 a.m., while continuing education schools will begin at 9 p.m. In Eastern Province and Tabuk Region, classes begin at 9:30 a.m. and continuing education classes begin at 9 p.m.
In the Al-Baha region, Director-General of Education Dr. Abdulkhalik Al-Zahrani said public and private schools and kindergartens will begin at 9 a.m., and continuing education classes will begin at 9 p.m. Each class period during Ramadan is 35 minutes.
The Al-Juf Regional Directorate of Education announced that class hours for general education institutions will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continuing education schools will begin at 9:00 p.m., at which point the first period will begin immediately. The department informed both general education and continuing education students of the revised schedule and emphasized the importance of strictly adhering to the announced times.
