RIYADH – Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman discussed regional developments and recent attacks by Iran with Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid in a telephone conversation on Thursday.
In a post on social media platform X, Crown Prince Khalid said both countries strongly condemned Iranian aggression targeting Saudi Arabia, the UAE and several neighboring countries in recent days.
“We condemn Iran’s aggression against Saudi Arabia, the UAE and our brotherly countries and affirm that we are fully united and ready to take all measures against it,” he wrote.
Both officials condemned the attack as a clear violation of international norms and national sovereignty and security, and warned that such actions would have serious consequences for regional and international stability, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Both sides also confirmed that Saudi Arabia and the UAE reserve the right to take all necessary measures to protect their resources and ensure the safety of everyone living on their territory.
The call came amid heightened tensions in the region following attacks by Iran targeting Gulf states.
On Saturday, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman spoke by phone with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s full solidarity with the UAE.
