RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has provided 1.3 billion riyals to address the Yemeni government’s payroll deficit under the direction of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

This assistance was provided through the Saudi Program for Yemen Development and Reconstruction as part of Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to promote stability and development for the Yemeni people.

The initiative aims to strengthen Yemen’s economic, monetary and financial stability, strengthen the capacity of government institutions, improve governance and transparency, and enable the private sector to drive sustainable economic growth.

Rashad Al Alimi, Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, expressed his gratitude to the Saudi leadership for the new financial aid that covers the salaries of Saudi government employees, saying it is an extension of Saudi Arabia’s long-standing support for the Yemeni people.
