Saudi Arabia allows foreign airlines to operate commercial aircraft ‘upon request’ – Saudi News

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has granted permission for a foreign airline to operate a civilian “on-demand” aircraft in the Kingdom under AirX Charter under Part 129 of the Aviation Safety Executive Regulations (“FOA”) after the company has met all applicable standards, regulatory requirements and aviation safety conditions in the Kingdom.

This strategic step is consistent with aviation program objectives. The aim is to open up new investment possibilities in the general (civil) aviation market and provide flexible operational options to meet the growing demand for commercial flights and business services. This increases the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation granted permission for a foreign airline to operate private aircraft “on demand” in the country under Part 129 of the Aviation Safety Administrative Regulations “FOA” (AirX Charter) after the company met all regulatory standards, requirements and aviation safety conditions in force in the Kingdom.

Operational options

This strategic step is in line with the aviation program’s objectives, which aim to open up new investment possibilities in the general (civil) aviation market and provide flexible operational options to meet the growing demand for civil aviation and business services. This will increase the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector.
