RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned and condemned comments attributed to the U.S. ambassador to Israel. In it, the ambassador reportedly said that Israel’s control over the entire Middle East was acceptable.
Saudi Arabia firmly rejected the irresponsible statement, saying it was a violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and diplomatic norms.
The statement said the comments set a serious precedent by U.S. officials and showed a disregard for the long-standing relationships between regional countries and the United States.
The ministry said such an approach has serious consequences and threatens international peace and security by antagonizing countries and peoples in the region and undermining the foundations of the international order established to prevent catastrophic wars and protect national sovereignty and respect for internationally recognized borders.
He added that the US State Department should clarify its position on this statement, which is rejected by peace-loving countries around the world.
Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its firm position of rejecting any violation of its national sovereignty, borders and territorial integrity.
The report stressed that the only path to a just and comprehensive peace is to end the occupation based on a two-state solution and establish an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
